How It Started
The Central Reach Art Walk began in 2022 when a small group of local artists set up easels on Main Street one Saturday morning. What started as an informal gathering of five painters quickly drew a crowd of curious neighbors, and by the end of the day, the idea for an annual event was born.
The Central Reach Arts Council was formed that same year, with the mission of making art visible, accessible, and central to community life. The art walk has grown each year, from five artists to over thirty, from one block to six dedicated venues across downtown.
Our Mission
We believe that art belongs to everyone — not just those who visit museums or can afford gallery prices. The art walk breaks down the barriers between artists and community, creating space for real conversations about creativity, craft, and what it means to make something with your hands.
Every exhibiting artist receives their space free of charge. There are no entry fees for visitors. Artists set their own prices and keep 100% of sales. We believe this model builds genuine connections and supports working artists directly.
The Venues
Our six venues span the walkable heart of downtown Central Reach, from the restored Old Mill Gallery on the north end to Maple Street Studios in the south. Each space has its own character — from the industrial grit of The Foundry to the open-air expanse of the Central Park Pavilion.
We work with each venue year-round to ensure they're accessible, welcoming, and well-suited to displaying art. Many of our venues host art programming throughout the year, extending the spirit of the walk beyond its two-day event.
Volunteer
The art walk runs on volunteer energy. We need help with setup and breakdown, wayfinding and visitor assistance, photography and social media, and refreshment coordination. Volunteers receive a limited-edition art walk tote bag and an invitation to the artist reception.

For Artists
We accept applications from artists working in any medium who live or work within 30 miles of Central Reach. Booth space, basic display equipment, and marketing support are provided at no cost. Artists are responsible for their own artwork, pricing, and sales.
Applications for the 2027 walk will open in January. Sign up for our mailing list to be notified when the application period begins.
Sponsors
The art walk is made possible by the generous support of local businesses and community sponsors. Sponsorship opportunities are available at several levels, from venue naming to walk map placement. Contact sponsors@centralreach.lucitech.net for details.
